Seeking board-certified veterinarians for exotic specialty practice in San Jose, California

Ad Expires: 11/01/2026

Looking for a fun and rewarding place to work in beautiful California? The Exotic Pet Clinic of Santa Cruz (www.exoticpetclinic.com) is a busy exotics-only clinic currently located in Scotts Valley, California. Started by Dr. Hilary Stern DVM ABVP® (exotic companion practice) in 2021, the Exotic Pet Clinic has grown rapidly both in clients and in reputation. We have now outgrown our space and are in the process of expanding and moving to a 3700 SF space in San Jose, California. Our new facility (currently under construction) will have 6 exam rooms, a new CT machine, and all the specialized equipment you need to practice high-quality medicine. We currently have two full-time veterinarians and are looking to add more. We at the Exotic Pet Clinic pride ourselves on providing excellent medical and surgical care. We have digital radiography, ultrasonography, an in-house laboratory, and endoscopy, and will be adding a CT machine soon. We work with all bird species (parrots, poultry, waterfowl, raptors, doves, and finches), all non-venomous reptiles (lizards, snakes, turtles, and tortoises), small mammals (rabbits, rodents, hedgehogs, sugar gliders), and wildlife (coyotes, bobcats, weasels, raptors, other birds). Dr. Stern enjoys doing surgery and has a special interest in dentistry, and complex procedures such as dental abscesses in rabbits and rodents, rhinotomies, reptile coelomic surgeries, and more are performed on a regular basis. In addition to providing excellent medical care for exotic pets, we also provide our clients with excellent customer service. Our dedicated and enthusiastic clients love us – check out our Google and Yelp reviews. Last but far from least, we also pride ourselves on a wonderful workplace culture. We have had no turnover of core staff since the clinic was founded 5 years ago, and have lots of fun working together. All exotic veterinarians who are boarded in avian, reptile / amphibian, or exotic companion mammals are encouraged to apply. Please contact us to learn more. Dr. Stern can be reached at hstern@exoticpetclinic.com or at 831-440-8590.
