ABVP Canine/Feline Specialty Residency
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech invites applications for a 2-year ABVP residency training program in the specialty of Canine/Feline Practice. This is a unique program at the College of Veterinary Medicine preparing the resident for specialty certification in Canine/Feline clinical practice. The residency program provides training in advanced canine and feline practice to include rotations in community practice, internal and specialty medicine (cardiology, dermatology, neurology), soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, radiology and emergency medicine. The resident also will participate in house officer rounds and seminars, and clinical and didactic instruction of veterinary students. The emphasis of the program is to provide advanced clinical and didactic training to prepare the candidate for American Board of Veterinary Practitioners board certification. Applicants must have completed a 1-year rotating internship or equivalent practice experience. Starting salary is $35,412.
