Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in Community Practice
The Department of Medicine and Epidemiology in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California-Davis is recruiting for a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in Community Practice.
QUALIFICATIONS: Veterinarian with competence and advanced clinical skills in small animal primary care. Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty such as American Board of Veterinary Practitioners is preferred but not required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary primary care practice is required and greater than 8 years is preferred. Clinical experience and competence in small animal primary care medicine, preventative care, general dentistry and surgery are required. A demonstrated aptitude/experience in the principles of veterinary practice management is preferred. A demonstrated aptitude/experience with teaching, particularly clinical instruction is required. USDA accreditation will be required within one year of hire. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere are required. A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in California is required before employment (California Business and Professions Code Section 4846-4857). Individuals not eligible for a full California license can obtain a University License (California Business and Professions Code Section 4848.1).
