Position Summary: The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences of the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications to become a part of our team in emergency medicine and community practice. The fulltime clinical instructor will spend 45% of his/her time seeing emergency cases as well as providing primary case management of emergency and ICU patients, this portion of the appointment includes day time, evening duty and weekends on a rotating basis. 25% will be dedicated to provide laboratory instruction in the DVM curriculum and the remaining 30% will be dedicated to seeing patients in the community practice in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. In addition, the successful candidate will provide consultation to clients and referring veterinarians seeking emergency care for their animals. Applicants must be committed to excellent patient management, client service, and clinical teaching. Teaching will primarily be focused on clinical instruction to DVM students assigned to the emergency service and community practice but will also include teaching and supervision of interns and residents working in the emergency service and community practice.
Required Qualifications:
• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Three years of experience in emergency medicine or small animal practice and/or residency trained or board certification in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners or American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Professional Organization / University Liaison: Attend selected VMAs and professional organization meetings. Develop effective communication/support with assigned Colleges of Veterinary Medicine faculty and students as needed.

REQUIRED JOB RELATED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.

Exotic Animal Veterinary Center is a 4 ½ doctor, avian and exotics hospital in Pasadena, CA. We are paperless and have digital radiology, in house blood machines, ultrasound machine, therapy laser, rigid endoscope, incubators, multi-parameter anesthetic monitors, ventilator, and all the rabbit/rodent dental instruments you could ask for.

Our technicians are the real stars. We have four RVT’s and several assistants, all skilled in gently handling various species. We see about 40% rabbits, 20% birds, 20% reptiles, and 20% rodents, ferrets, wildlife, pot belly pigs, hedgehogs, sugar gliders and fish. Experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon in the North Island of New Zealand

Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian, Clinical Lecturer; Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor

The Department of Clinical Sciences in the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants to fill two full-time, non-tenured, 12-month appointments as Small Animal Emergency Veterinarians at Auburn Veterinary Specialists in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This new referral center will provide internal medicine and surgical care for small animals, and will later expand to include emergency services. The referral center will participate in the educational mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine, providing focused clinical instruction to senior veterinary students, interns and residents and continuing education programs for veterinarians. Primary care will not be offered at the referral center.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have demonstrated an interest in emergency medicine and surgery and in advanced patient care. Initially, clinical responsibilities will include after-hours care and management of hospitalized animals. Responsibilities will expand to include the management of emergency cases once the service is opened. Members of the veterinary faculty must contribute to a team environment, engage productively with referring veterinarians, and collaborate with colleagues on the main Auburn University campus. The faculty member will provide exceptional patient care while simultaneously providing clinical instruction for veterinary students. An after-hours rotating working schedule of Monday night through Thursday night and Friday night through the weekend and including Sunday night is anticipated.
