Clinical or Academic-Track Assistant in Zoological Companion (Exotic) Animal Medicine
Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA, invites applications for a full-time Clinical or Academic-Track position in zoological companion animal medicine at the assistant professor level. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of a formal residency in zoological companion (exotic) animal medicine. Preference will be given to individuals who are ACZM board certified or board eligible and/or ABVP Avian, Exotic Companion Mammal, or Reptile/Amphibian board certified. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience. Strengths are required in teaching and clinical service. Research experience is desirable.
The selected candidate will join the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine Service in the Foster Hospital for Small Animals of Cummings Veterinary Medical Center, within Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. This service provides care to companion pet exotic animals including avian, small mammal, and reptile/amphibian species. Zoological species are seen from local zoos and aquaria. Provision of superb patient care, teaching of students, supervision of interns, and clinical research are priorities for the service. The selected candidate will run this service on alternating weeks with weekend back-up provided to the hospital.

Instructor in Zoological Medicine
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month appointment, Instructor in Zoological Medicine. The successful candidate will join our existing faculty in providing exceptional service to our clients, as well as high quality patient care for zoological species received for primary, referral, and emergent visits. The Zoological Medicine faculty provide clinical service to zoological species including companion zoological animal patients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, free-living and captive wildlife, and animal collections associated with two AZA accredited zoos. Qualifications include a DVM degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience with zoological species. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are eligible for specialization in zoological species medicine (ACZM, ABVP) and/or who have demonstrated interest in student instruction.
