Faculty Position in Field Service- Equine Emphasis

The School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Department of Clinical Studies – New Bolton Center invites applications for a faculty position in Field Service (Equine Emphasis) in the Academic Clinician Track.

Requirements include a DVM/VMD or equivalent degree and three years of clinical practice experience with eligibility for licensure in PA, MD, and DE. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is available February 1, 2019.

Our practice serves a diverse population of performance and pleasure horses. Daily practice obligations will include cases typical of ambulatory practice including but not limited to: lameness, field surgery, herd health, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, and reproduction. A fully stocked ambulatory truck will be provided and digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, and powerfloats are available. This position will rotate with the other equine Field Service clinicians in the emergency schedule.

The successful candidate is expected to participate in the academic program of the section, including didactic and laboratory teaching of students, and training of interns and residents, with a special emphasis on clinical teaching of veterinary students on the Field Service rotation.

ABVP Canine/Feline Specialty Residency

The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech invites applications for a 2-year ABVP residency training program in the specialty of Canine/Feline Practice. This is a unique program at the College of Veterinary Medicine preparing the resident for specialty certification in Canine/Feline clinical practice. The residency program provides training in advanced canine and feline practice to include rotations in community practice, internal and specialty medicine (cardiology, dermatology, neurology), soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, radiology and emergency medicine. The resident will also participate in house officer rounds and seminars, and clinical and didactic instruction of veterinary students. The emphasis of the program is to provide advanced clinical and didactic training to prepare the candidate for American Board of Veterinary Practitioners board certification. Applicants must have completed a 1-year rotating internship or equivalent practice experience. Starting salary is $35,844. St. Matthew’s University, Faculty Position

St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Cayman Islands is looking for a faculty member who is passionate about teaching small animal surgery and medicine. The ideal candidate possesses a DVM/VMD/BVSc, with clinical and teaching experience; ideally with an internship or residency in medicine/surgery.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (1) Clinical Skills courses and assist in teaching gross anatomy (2) participate with faculty in developing case review and student grand rounds (3) participate in lectures and labs.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with a candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salaries are not subject to income tax in the Cayman Islands.
