Course Description: This course is geared to ABVP Diplomates and Candidates who wish to increase their knowledge and expertise in clinical cytology. Through the use of lecture and slide navigation during the wet lab, participants will be given instruction on the discipline of reading a smear, systematically documenting the observation, interpretation of the findings and reaching a conclusive diagnosis. Each attendee if he or she wishes will be able to project one case via microscope on to a screen and determine the region of interest. At this point there will be a discussion on the case with the proctor and participants as well. Each participant will also have the case description with them and will document there pertinent findings for discussion. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:
- Prepare an optimal smear
- Recognize normal and abnormal appearance of the cells
- Differentiate between inflammatory and neoplastic lesions
- Recognize a pattern for sarcoma, carcinoma, round cell tumor, etc.
- Recognize normal and abnormal appearance of the background
- Brief pathogenesis of the disease process
- Understand techniques of cytology interpretation

Course Description: Learn how to maximize the changes of patient survival by training on the simulator and completing the RECOVER CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Life Support (ALS) Rescuer Certification! Through the efforts of over 100 veterinary specialists, an evidence-based veterinary CPR guidelines was created and made available. The RECOVER initiative directs its efforts at regularly updating the clinical guidelines, providing effective training and certification in a standardized method of performing veterinary CPR, and guiding research in veterinary resuscitation. This course will review key concepts and provide practical training using simulated scenarios of BLS. The ALS training is conducted with veterinary-specific simulation software coupled with a high-fidelity canine simulator mannequin. Completiong of the Rescuer BLS/ALS live-training modules takes approximately 6 hours with an assessment simulation included at the conclusion of the hands-on workshop. Participants will be provided with:
